Recap of the past week

I apologize for not posting in a week, but I was busy with finals.  I will be posting on a regular basis again.  Since, Giambi's walkoff slam, the Yankees have split their last 6 games, going 3-3.  During that stretch though, they had 2 one-run losses, including a 2-1 loss friday night, and the a 3-2 loss monday afternoon.  Those were both stellar outings by Rasner and Mussina respectively, and if the Yankees want to be considered an elite team as they once were, they need to win them.  They would be only 5 games behind insteat of 7, as they are now.  Right now, the Yankees are playing average, which is better than the below-average they were at the beginning of the season, but they need to be better.  Their next e series are against Houston, San Diego, and Cincinnati, all of which have losing records.  Right now though, so are the Yankees.  They need to win at least 5 of these games and go 5-4.  If they don't, it doesn't look too promising.  However, the Yanks really need to win 6 or 7, but 5 is a reasonable number and it would be over .500.  Anything less than that though, at this point in the season, is in-excusable.
